Adverbs of Place 

Adverbs of place: Are those adverbs which are used to show location of an action and usually answers the question of the (WHERE). Like: Class, School, Hospital, City, Ground, Room, Pakistan etc.

For Example:

EX: He works in the office .

EX: She lives in Afghanistan.

EX: He slept in the class.

It shows where an action happened.

Note: In English grammar adverbs of place have three positions ( Placement ).

1: Usually at the end of sentence.

85% adverbs of place are used at the end of sentence.

Ex: He played football in the ground. (Adverb of place)

2: Rarely in the beginning of sentence

Rarely means 5-10%

EX: in the ground, he played football.

3: sometime in the middle of sentence:- 50%

He played in the ground football.



Adverbs of time: Are those adverbs which are used to show the time of an action and usually answers the question of WHEN. 

For example:

EX: He will go home tomorrow.( tomorrow)

EX: They have not gone to Kabul Lately.( Lately)

EX: He will go tomorrow. (When/ Tomorrow)

EX: They have not gone to Kabul Lately. ( When/ Lately )

Definite Adverbs of Time Indefinite Adverbs of time

Definite Adverbs of time:

Definite adverbs of time are those adverbs, which denote exact time of an action.

EX: Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday, Last week, last year, and three days ago etc.

EX: He came here last night. ( Definite adverb of time)

Indefinite adverb of time:

Are those adverb, which don’t show exact time of an action.

EX: Yet, still, Anymore, Already, Ago, Just etc

EX: He has already told me the reality.

Indefinite adverb of time

He went there three days ago.

Definite + Indefinite = Definite
